Avicii Collab With Bon Jovi Was In The Works Before DJ’s Death

Aviciistill had so much of his musical creativity to offer before his untimely passing, including a record with the one and only Jon Bon Jovithat never manifested.

The discovery came courtesy of a Reddit post from user sanwichesareevil, who shared a clip of the rock star's interview on a Swedish show, in which he recalls the time he almost paired up with the late producer on an upcoming collaboration.

Evidently, Avicii wanted the "Livin' on a Prayer" musician to pen a lyric for a track he was working on, but as the singer remembers from their final meeting, the EDM star didn't have the proper "tools or files" to complete the record.

"He sent me a track and asked me to write a lyric to and I did," Bon Jovi said. "I went in and we tried to do it but he didn't actually have all the files to change the song around and to change the keys."

"We just met, and nothing came of it. It was unfortunate," he added.

In speaking of Avicii's memory, the rocker said he remembered him to be "a sweet boy" who was obviously "very talented," even in their brief time together. Though he was never aware of the DJ's personal struggles, Bon Jovi said, "it's heartbreaking when a young artist like that is lost."

The revelation comes nearly six months after the 26-year-old, whose health struggles were well-known to the public, took his own life by self-inflicted cuts back in April.
