George Harrison's Son Dhani Releases New Song, Announces Solo Album

Dhani Harrison, the only son of the late Beatles guitarist George Harrison, has announced his first-ever solo album, due out this fall.

IN///PARALLEL is coming October 6 and will include 10 new songs, including "All About Waiting," which was released last week.

Beatles fans may be intrigued by the new song. While the younger Harrison can't help but sound like his father when he sings, the song is unlike anything George would have created. Driven by dark synthesizer tones in the verses, and opening up into a bright, half-time chorus, "All About Waiting" is more reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails or Depeche Mode filtered through one of Harrison's favorite bands, ELO.

Harrison has always been creative, notes Ultimate Classic Rock, though his focus has not always been on music. The 39-year-old's first career was as a car designer for McLaren Automotive.

Dhani began exploring a career in music after working with Jeff Lynne in 2002 on his father's posthumous release, Brainwashed.

Since then, Harrison has worked within a project dubbed thenewno2, as well as Fistful of Mercy and others.

This past spring, Harrison inducted ELO into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
