More artists have signed on for the upcoming Grateful Dead tribute disc.
According to "Relix," the project spearheaded by The National guitarists Aaron and Bryce Dessner will feature contributions from members of Vampire Weekend, the War on Drugs, Bon Iver, and Kurt Vile. They're also hoping to bring in even more big names, including Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo and Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan.
Aaron admits that the project is an ambitious one, adding that he and his bandmates are "obsessed enough with the Grateful Dead that it is kind of a monumental idea."
The tribute album still doesn't have a title or a release date, but all the proceeds are set to go to Red Hot, a international organization focused on raising AIDS awareness.
